An exchange of fire took place this Thursday, December 19, near the headquarters of the Russian secret service (FSB) in Moscow. The outcome is still uncertain, the FSB reporting the death of one of its agents. The shooter was " neutralized ".

A stranger opened fire near No. 12 rue Bolchaïa Loubianka, there are wounded. Its identification is in progress, the criminal has been neutralized, "said the press service of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) to the state agency Tass, as well as to Ria Novosti, this Thursday at the end of afternoon. Shortly after, the FSB reported the death of one of its agents in the shooting.

The circumstances of the attack remain unclear, but according to state news agencies, still quoting the FSB, the assailant did not enter the secret service building.

The district was completely cordoned off and Russian President Vladimir Putin was informed of the situation, according to his spokesman Dmitri Peskov quoted by Tass.

The incident came just hours after the end of Vladimir Putin's big annual press conference . According to the RIA Novosti agency, he then participated in a ceremony in honor of the police.
