The fact that women are the family's project manager during Christmas is a trend that is not least evident in this year's Christmas calendar. The Santa lies and treats, while the Santa Claus fixes everything in the kitchen and also takes on the responsibility to get him out of bed.

The new Novus survey provides support for the fact that it is a true picture of the division into many families before Christmas. But according to TCO chairman Therese Svanström, it is not just in December that it looks like.

- In this case, Christmas lasts for Easter and a little more, and this leads to women more often working part-time, being more ill and, by extension, getting worse pensions, says Therese Svanström.

"An innate helplessness?"

Ebba Kleberg von Sydow is a journalist and has been involved in the issue. She is not surprised by the results of the survey, but is still saddened to hear it.

- Why do we fall back into this at Christmas time? Do men have an innate helplessness and are worthless homeless and lucian nightdressers? I don't want to think that is the case, she says in the Morning Studio.

Worse with children in the picture

The figures are still higher when there are children in the picture. Then 80% of women feel that they have to manage the project.

- It rarely leads to anything good in the relationship. There is talk of being a family project manager. You have to resign regularly, says Ebba Kleberg von Sydow.

Her tips for a more stress-free Christmas include tossing less, making lists and striking.

- We have a fantastic childcare and educators who do so much with the children. We don't have to believe what Instagram says, everyone builds gingerbread houses. The kids feel great about sitting and watching TV in December just like I do, she says.

"I haven't bought any Christmas presents"

Ebba Kleberg von Sydow also believes that sometimes it has to go as far as a strike so that one's partner does not take everything one does for granted.

- Yes, come to that lunch on Christmas Eve and say "I have not bought any Christmas presents, do you have with you ..?". You can't be that putty in the family all the time and automatically think it will solve, she says.
