19 December 201919.40 It was found in the house of a Roman architect the "shield of Garibaldi", a gift of the Sicilian people to the condottiero after the landing in Marsala. The shield was in turn donated by Garibaldi to the city of Rome. It was kept first in the Capitoline Museum, then at the National Museum of the Risorgimento. The disappearance of the work, a circular polychrome bronze sculpture of 118 cm of diameter and 50 kg of weight realized by Antonio Ximenes, dates back to the early 2000s. The Carabinieri of the Protection of Cultural Heritage found it.
