Employment services must be found throughout the country

So far, 18 of the offices in Västra Götaland have been closed. Among other things in Stenungsund.

- It's a day of sorrow. I am fairly new as a manager here and had a hope of coming here and together with the employees building business. Instead, it will be discontinued operations, said Henrik Svedberg, section manager of the employment office in Stenungsund, then to Svt Nyheter Väst.

On Thursday, Labor Minister Eva Nordmark (S) announced that the employment services will be assigned to secure operations throughout the country. But it is unclear whether offices will be saved from closure or reopened. The authority may decide for itself how it should be located.

- The mission, as I understand it, is that we should be able to meet applicants locally, not necessarily open and staff an entire office. Without being able to be with the municipalities, or in a service office or sometimes our own office too, says Eva Lindh Pernheim, Regional Manager for the Swedish Employment Agency West.
