It was last summer that the confirmation camp took place and the responsible priest threatened with the devil and hell, saying that homosexuality entered the world with evil.

"I love sinners, but not sin," they should have said.

A "gay camp"

Many of the congregants reacted strongly to what they felt was a "homophobic scam" and ten parents reported the priest to the chapter in the Luleå diocese.

After that, the church investigated the matter and also interviewed everyone involved.

“Homosexuality is not right. It has to do with all the defiance of creation and the fall of sin. ”The Confirmation priest replied in his statement to the chapter of Judgment.

"Broken their clergy promises"

And now the judicial chapter has made its decision on the sensitive issue.

The pastor is declared unauthorized to practice the church's ordination service in order to break his vowing vows.

- To deprive a priest of the right to practice the ordination service is the strongest sanction the chapter can decide on, says Bishop Åsa Nyström.

The decision of the chapter was unanimous and the members stated that the priest repeatedly expressed in connection with his confirmation teaching a strong question of homosexuality.

"By merely expressing their own opinions and not stating the attitude of the Swedish church on these issues, the priest has broken in his loyalty to the Swedish church.
