It was in October 2018 that a 24-year-old man was found dead in a home in Oslo. Norwegian police suspect a then 20-year-old man who is written in Uppsala. The suspect fled the country and could be arrested in French Dijon a few days later. During his time on the run, he is suspected of yet another murder of a woman in Belgium. The man's lawyer has previously stated that the murder suspect admits the circumstances of the murder.

Is considered to be reasonable

Psychiatric experts have now assessed the man's psychiatric condition, reports the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet.

"They have considered that he was psychotic (schizophrenic) in the investigation and that he is also today," police lawyer Christian Hatlo told the newspaper.

The murder suspect is nevertheless deemed to be sufficient during the actual execution of the act.

"The psychiatric experts who have assessed the accused have largely doubted that he was criminally responsible for the crime," the police write in a press release.

According to reports to the Norwegian newspaper, the upcoming trial may take place before summer 2020.

- Subject to delays, I believe and hope we will have a trial before the summer, Hatlo tells Dagbladet.
