A few hours after the assignment of Prime Minister Hassan Diab in Lebanon, the demonstrators gathered in the Martyrs Square in Beirut to protest the decision.

Sources confirmed that the demonstrators cut off roads in the Lebanese capital Thursday, after announcing the assignment of Hassan Diab as prime minister, as the road to Naameh Highway was cut in both directions, in addition to cutting the road at Al Salam Roundabout in Tripoli, and at Al Marg roundabout in the port, as well as at the Elia roundabout in Sidon. According to «Arab Net».

The traffic control room reported that the roads cut to the north include, Al-Nour Square, Al-Baddawi, Deir Ammar, Al-Minya, Al-Abda, Halba, and Al-Bireh.

The Lebanese Prime Minister-designate, Hassan Diab, announced from Baabda Palace that he would work hard to form a government as soon as possible, as part of a reform plan.

Diab said from the presidential palace, "Lebanese, all our efforts must focus on stopping the collapse and restoring confidence and preserving national unity by establishing bridges of convergence between all groups of the Lebanese people."

In a speech to reporters after his meeting with President Michel Aoun, he expressed his hope that "a government will live up to the aspirations of the Lebanese: touches their concerns, realizes their demands, reassures them to their future, and moves the country from the imbalance it is going through to the stage of stability through a realistic reform plan that remains not a dead letter, but rather "It is on the way to implementation quickly."

He added, "I will work hard to form a government as quickly as possible ... and I will expand the consultations that I will conduct to include political forces and parties, as well as the popular movement." He said «The stage is very delicate and sensitive, and requires exceptional effort and the concertedness of all political forces, in the government and outside it, we are facing a national crisis that does not allow the luxury of political and personal battles, but rather needs national unity that fortifies the country and gives impetus to the rescue process, which must be a priority in everyone’s calculations ».

Addressing the protesters in the Lebanese streets on the ruling class, he said: “For 64 days, I listened to your voices expressing chronic pain and anger at the situation we have reached, especially from the aggravation of corruption. And I felt that your uprising represented me as it did all those who wish to establish a real state in Lebanon, a state of justice and law that applies to everyone. ”

Then he said in a speech in front of his house, that matters must be addressed, and added: "We need will and management, and the government will not be a confrontational government in any way."
