An Israeli report revealed that the government of the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, spends millions of dollars on settlements in the West Bank annually, while the secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Saeb Erekat, yesterday warned of the dangers of Israel escalating the imposition of settlement reality in the Palestinian territories.

In detail, data revealed by the Hebrew economic magazine, "The Marker", showed that during the first quarter of this year, the Israeli government spent NIS 390 million, equivalent to $ 110 million in occupied settlements in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, while it exceeded what it spent annually during the presidency Netanyahu to the government 1.2 billion shekels a year, equivalent to 380 million dollars.

According to the data officially registered with the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics, during the era of Benjamin Netanyahu, huge funds were invested in these settlements.

She noted that this amount exceeds a lot of the money, which the government has been announcing its investment in settlements during the last decade.

The publication of the report coincided with another report by the leftist Israeli Peace Now movement, in which it indicated that the Israeli government spent: between 2011 and 2016, up to 1.2 billion shekels annually, and that this number increased during 2018, and reached 1.4 billion shekels spent on Settlements.

For his part, Erekat said, in a statement after receiving the West Bank, a delegation of American progressives, that Israel “is committing violations of international law and international legitimacy, especially with regard to imposing colonial occupation colonial facts in and around East Jerusalem, Hebron and the Jordan Valley, and other occupied lands” .

Erekat assured the delegation that the Palestinian people "continue their steadfastness, survival and struggle, for the sake of their freedom and independence."

He stressed the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation and embodying the independence of the state of Palestine with its capital in East Jerusalem, to live in security and peace alongside Israel on the 1967 borders.

He referred to "field executions, confiscation of lands, ethnic cleansing, house demolitions, medical neglect, mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners, siege and closures, especially for the Gaza Strip."

In the Palestinian internal affairs, Erekat stressed that the Palestinian presidential and legislative elections are "deservingly deserved." This comes at a time when it was decided to hold an extraordinary session of the Arab League Council, at the level of permanent delegates, today, at the request of Palestine.

The Council is examining the steps and procedures that Arab countries can take regarding the illegal move by Brazil, by opening a commercial office in Jerusalem, as part of its embassy in Israel.

Security, Israeli Internal Intelligence announced yesterday the arrest of 50 Palestinians, as part of a "large network of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine," and accused them of planning attacks in the West Bank.

The Shin Bet accused the detainees of being behind many of the shootings, and that they were planning more large attacks.

The agency said that among those arrested were the elements responsible for the bombing, which killed an Israeli girl, during her hike last August, as well as injuring her father and brother.

Israel also arrested Palestinian politician Khaleda Jarrar.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that indictments had been filed against most of the detainees.
