In Sonstorp, the hydroelectric power plant goes full speed and the dams release more water than the power plant uses. In some places, farm wells, which have been dry for much of the year, have suddenly become full of water. Most small water reservoirs have plenty of water, but for large reservoirs even more rain is needed to get to normal levels.

The Class 1 warning for high flows was extended on Wednesday afternoon to most of the watercourses in southern Närke, northern Östergötland and most of Sörmland. According to SMHI's forecast, water flows will continue to rise and reach above the Class 1 level throughout the Christmas holidays.
