The Emirates Space Agency, at its headquarters in Masdar City in Abu Dhabi, has attracted a delegation from the European Space Agency (ESA) education team to discuss prospects for future joint cooperation between the two sides in the educational and awareness fields of the space sector.

During the visit, a group of proposals for enhancing ways of cooperation between the two sides and exchanging experiences between them in the fields of space education were discussed, including proposals for organizing joint activities that contribute to encouraging youth groups and school and university students to study scientific subjects, and strive to work within the space sector in the future, and joint programs To raise awareness and knowledge of the space sector.

The education team at Emirates Space Agency also reviewed, during the visit, the most important achievements made in the field of its educational program.

The Director General of the Agency, Dr. Eng. Muhammad Nasser Al-Ahbabi, said: “The visit comes in line with our efforts to enhance cooperation with various international bodies concerned with the space sector, to exchange experiences and work to activate youth participation in a manner commensurate with the needs of the national space sector, and with efforts to achieve our strategic goals Aimed at building the future generation of Emirati astronauts and scientists. ” He added: «We continue in the agency to achieve more successes and achievements in terms of establishing an integrated educational and scientific structure for the space sector, through the agency’s educational program, through which we aim to prepare, develop and qualify national cadres to encourage them to work in the space sector in the country, where we succeeded through the program To attract a group of distinguished students from the country’s citizens, to obtain academic degrees in the field of space, as well as to support and nurture emerging talents, and to develop students ’skills and encourage them to study the required space majors».
