"This is the third year we are doing this," says craft teacher Erika Wickman, who sewed all the black footwear covers that the students wear.

The masks are made by the students themselves.

It's a little chaotic and stressful moment in the craft room before all the students put on their hoods and take off hoodies that can disturb the look. Erika calls on her students and helps them to prepare.

- It's great fun, says Alva Petersson.

She has a green and red mask on her face and tells that the colors and masks that the students have chosen and manufactured themselves must reflect their personalities.

As the chaos subsides and the students line up, they slowly advance along a long school corridor lined by the school's other students and staff.

It is the third year that the school is organizing a worm parade, and this is done in collaboration between different school subjects. Both this year and previous years, the train has been inspired by exhibitions at Kalmar castle, so this year van Gogh was the theme of the mask train.

This spring, students' masks will be on display at the Kalmar Art Museum.
