The first agent of the Dubai Drug Prosecution, Saleh Al Shehhi, revealed that an addict has implicated his wife in taking drugs, so that she does not ask him for a divorce or can stay away from him because of his insistence on taking abuse, pointing out that the drug addict harms the environment surrounding him, and hurts the closest people to him even if they are His brothers.

Al-Shehhi said, on the sidelines of a seminar held in the framework of the legal awareness campaign, jointly between the Public Prosecution in Dubai and the Community Development Authority, in the Rashidiya Council, that there are several addictions among members of the same family, and the problem is exacerbated if the older brother imitates his younger siblings, pointing out that Among the cases that the Public Prosecution considered were four siblings.

He added that the state has been keen on encouraging families to take positive steps once they monitor the abuse of any of its children or members through the new amendment in the anti-drug law, which provides an opportunity for treatment for children if the father, mother or any of the family members report the addicted person with the intention of treatment.

He pointed out that the Public Prosecution in Dubai is keen to monitor the loopholes that lead to addiction, including the sale of prescriptions by some psychologists, who violate their conscience and spend drugs included in the drug schedule for users, stressing that this problem was largely contained through the monitoring system Mail for those recipes.

Al-Shehhi stressed the necessity of caution in dealing with these drugs, as a thin hair separates between using it as a treatment, or turning it into an anesthetic that a person is addicted to, pointing out that some parents tolerate taking these pills in front of their children, which may lead them to try them, especially as there is a conviction False that it may increase the academic focus.

He explained that the new amendments in the drug law, especially those related to the mitigation of some penalties, prevented the future of children from being harmed just because they tried drugs once, as it represents an opportunity to remedy the error, and it gives the family hope to contain it again and preserve it.

And he stated that the first-time user or someone who recently discharged from prison is subjected to periodic checks, to ensure his recovery and observation of his behavior, so that he does not return again to addiction, and there are measures taken regarding the person who fails without an excuse from the periodic examination.
