Holidays that often involve alcohol are always a difficult period for people living in some form of vulnerability.

"It means that you get more time with the one who exposes, it gives more tension and we know that the violence often escalates," says Tania Karanja at the women's and girls' camp.

For most children, the Christmas holidays mean something wonderful but for vulnerable children it can in many ways be extra difficult.

- This means that there will be a longer time when you do not get interrupted in the form of being with school mates or, for example, seeking support from a teacher, says Tania Karanja.

On-call needs help

The increased pressure over Christmas means that those who work on women's and girls' journeys are unable to help everyone. In some cases, it may take several weeks for vulnerable women and children to receive help.

"We need to become more aware of the fact that men's violence against women is a social problem," says Tania Karanja.

Individuals can become members and also give gifts to the vulnerable.

- All types of commitment are welcome.
