According to investigators, gas in explosive concentrations accumulated in the basement of a residential building and penetrated the first two floors.

“When trying to use household gas appliances, the residents of the house experienced a gas explosion followed by the collapse of walls and floors,” the UK noted.

According to the investigation, the gas escaped and accumulated in the basement of the apartment building as a result of illegal actions by representatives of the branch of JSC Gazprom Gas Distribution Belgorod in the city of Stroitel, who tied the gas pipeline into the pipe with gross violations of safety rules during gas hazardous work.

“Three representatives of the aforementioned organization, directly responsible for organizing and performing hazardous work, were detained and charged,” the agency said.

On December 16, it became known that one of the victims died in the Belgorod Regional Hospital.

A gas explosion in a four-story building in the village of Yakovlevo occurred on December 3. One person died, six were hospitalized.
