17 December 2019 The actress commissioner of the Lega Calcio, Mario Cicala, has just resigned from his post. Cicala communicated its decision to the Federcalcio.

Last December 2, Cicala was appointed ad acta commissioner of the Serie A League with the mandate to bring her to identify the new president, after the resignation of Gaetano Miccichè. The ex-magistrate, however, immediately ended up in the eye of the storm because of an alleged conflict of interests due to the role of substitute in the Lazio supervisory council of Claudio Lotito, of which he had not mentioned in his resume.

Cicala had defended himself, claiming that there was no incompatibility with the new office held. Today, however, the president of the Federcalcio, Gabriele Gravina, explained that "a presumption of trust has been lost" and has also announced that, "in the Federal Council of tomorrow, there would have been a comparison to hypothesize new turns on the commissioner for the League of A ".

A few hours later the words of the head of Italian football came Cicala's resignation. Among the names of possible substitutes circulate those of Gerardo Mastrandrea, current sports judge; of the Figc dg, Marco Brunelli; and the former federal president, Giancarlo Abete.
