Pedro Sánchez and Quim Torra have had a 15-minute conversation this morning in which the socialist leader has been willing to meet with the president of the Generalitat "as soon as possible" to resolve "the political conflict" in Catalonia.

As explained by the Catalan Government in a statement, Sánchez has admitted the framework with which he is already negotiating his investiture with ERC, which goes on to admit that in Catalonia there is a "political conflict" that must be resolved through dialogue. Torra, on the other hand, reminded him that the independentistas only contemplate as a solution the exercise of the right to self-determination.

Torra's was the second call in the round with the regional presidents Sánchez is making. The objective is to talk with them about the investiture while negotiating with ERC the abstention that guarantees its continuity in La Moncloa.

The acting government president, Pedro Sánchez, has started with the lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, the round with regional presidents, a contact in which the president of the Basque Executive hopes to address the territorial model and structural issues of the political situation in Euskadi and the state.

The conversation with Urkullu has begun at 9:00 am and has lasted for about fifteen minutes, as sources of the Basque Government have confirmed to Efe.

These sources have specified that both leaders have not only talked about the possibilities that Sánchez has to be invested , but also of the territorial model in Spain.

These contacts occur after the round of matches started on Monday by Pedro Sánchez with the PP and Citizens, after King Felipe VI proposed him as a candidate for the investiture and will continue on Tuesday with the scheduled appointments between the 'number two' of the PSOE and parliamentary spokesman, Adriana Lastra, and other formations, except Vox.

Also on Tuesday a round with the regional presidents has begun and at nine in the morning there was a conversation between Sánchez and Iñigo Urkullu, according to sources from Lehendakaritza. Next, it will be the Catalan president, Quim Torra, according to the protocol order of the autonomous communities.

In the conversation with Sánchez, according to Lehendakari himself, Iñigo Urkullu, on Friday in the Basque Parliament, hopes to address the territorial model and "structural" issues of the political situation in Euskadi and in the State.

Urkullu said that "it is not a time for tacticisms" and that it was necessary to address the issues that have been "pending" for some time, including the commitments adopted at the beginning of the year by the Spanish Government on the transfer of the powers provided for in the Statute of Autonomy of Euskadi.
