The opinion that certain alcoholic beverages can cause different consequences for the body, the narcologist considered ambiguous.

“The argument that sherry is more harmful than vodka seems to me unconvincing. Under some circumstances, it is absorbed faster into the gastric mucosa, yes. But all the numerous studies confirm that it is not the quality of alcohol (although, of course, there are surrogates and methyl alcohol poisoning). In droves, one must first talk about quantity. And the quantity of which is almost the same, ”the expert believes.

Zykov also explained that if you drink a large amount of the highest quality alcohol, the result will be the same as from the consumption of a cheap surrogate.

Earlier, a professor at Brighton University in the UK, Hal Sosabowski, said that drinking sherry and port is "the best way to get drunk very quickly."

Sosabowski explained that rapid intoxication from sherry and port is due to the fact that these drinks contain a relatively high amount of alcohol and are also absorbed faster than others, unlike strong alcohol, such as, for example, whiskey, which is absorbed more slowly.
