Unfinished buildings of the first stage of the Vostochny cosmodrome may collapse. This was stated by the general director of the state corporation "Roskosmos" Dmitry Rogozin.

“The truth is that if these objects are not completed now, these objects will not be tomorrow, they will simply be destroyed. We perfectly understand this, and I want to say that the completion of the first stage according to the right rules under the most severe control of the new directorate’s general directorate and the simultaneous rhythmic construction of the second stage of the Vostochny cosmodrome ... I am sure that this task will be completed, ”he said.

Thus, the first phase will be completed in parallel with the construction of the second. At the same time, the unfinished projects themselves are somewhere finished by only 10%. According to Rogozin, the problems also apply to housing - currently 750 apartments out of the planned 1,700 have been commissioned.

The Vostochny space center reported that in 2020 up to 5 thousand people will simultaneously work on the construction of the cosmodrome. At the same time, more than a thousand builders and 140 pieces of equipment are currently working at the facility.

Earlier, on November 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed out numerous facts of corruption in the construction of the East.

“A hundred times it was said: work transparently, big money is allocated, the project is practically of a national character. No, they steal hundreds of millions, hundreds of millions, ”the head of state said.

As President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov later explained, during the construction of the cosmodrome, 11 billion rubles were stolen and 3.5 billion were returned. According to him, five of the 19 objects of the first stage were never delivered.

On November 17, the Investigative Committee reported that the department is investigating 12 criminal cases involving theft during the construction of the cosmodrome.

“At present, the Investigative Committee is continuing to investigate 12 criminal cases involving thefts at Vostochny Cosmodrome, including a criminal case against Yuri Volkodav, the former director of the Main Military Construction Directorate No. 6. During the investigation, all necessary measures are taken aimed at redressing the damage to the state, ”said Svetlana Petrenko, an official representative of the IC.

Recall, the construction of Vostochny began in 2012, and in 2018 it was announced that construction of the first stage was completed - launching pads for launching light and middle class Soyuz rockets. The second and third stages are designed to launch Angara rockets, the Irtysh carrier and superheavy rockets.

The first launch of the Angara is scheduled for 2023. On December 15, installation of equipment for the missile launch complex began. They plan to finish construction in 2022 and then begin to build the third stage for the launch of superheavy rockets, which are planned for 2028.

The total cost of the East is estimated at 300 billion rubles. The first launch from the spaceport took place in 2016. There were five launches in total.

2020 plans

Rogozin also spoke about the plans of the Russian cosmonautics for 2020. So, Roscosmos intends to reduce the flight time to the ISS, which now takes six hours. This year, the corporation launched a two-turn missile — it flew for 3 hours and 21 minutes. And in 2020, it is planned to test single-turn, which will reduce the time to two hours.

In addition, the corporation will create a unified state program in the space industry. According to Rogozin, projects to develop infrastructure, missiles, satellites and others that are currently unconnected in terms of financing and deadlines will be combined into a single structure.

There are also 20 launches of Soyuz rockets planned. In 2019, 22 missile launches were carried out, of which 17 were “Unions”. Another is scheduled for December 24th. At the same time, at the beginning of the year Rogozin announced that Roskosmos would carry out 45 launches.

In addition, the launch of the Nauka multifunctional laboratory module (MLM) - the future part of the ISS Russian segment - can be postponed from 2020 to 2021. The start was planned for November 2020.

“You know our back-end work, we plan to send the MLM to Baikonur already at the beginning of 2020 or at the beginning of 2021 already to the ISS,” Rogozin said.

This module will become the 17th for the ISS and one of the largest in the entire station. He is designed to work for ten years. To connect it will be necessary to carry out ten spacewalks.
