Following a tip from the public, the traffic police in the west on December 10 were able to stop a truck from a haulage company that was rumored to cheat with rides.

The tip turned out to be correct. The tachograph in the truck showed that the driver drove about 120 miles per day and slept about five hours on three days.

- He sat and nodded during the interrogation with my colleagues, says Håkan Klingborg.

Received maximum fine: SEK 10,000

When the police checked the tachograph, it was understood that the driver had used two driver's licenses. This means that the driver has somehow hedged on another driver's license. But Håkan Klingborg does not want to say how this can go.

- Without going into how we see it, we can draw such conclusions. So both driver's licenses are seized by the police, says Håkan Klingborg.

In addition to seized driver's licenses, the driver received an order fine in place; SEK 10,000 was the sum for a number of different wrongdoings. That is the maximum amount for an order fine.

A sanction has also been made on the Swedish-based haulage of SEK 659,500. Since the haulage is based in Sweden, the vehicles can continue to drive on the roads. Other things are for foreign haulage companies that can get a driving ban on the direct. Håkan Klingberg cannot say how big the truck was or how big the haulage is. But the penalty amount is large, he says.

- I can't remember that we have ever written such a big sanction.

Not many tips from the public

The tip came in to police after making a post on Facebook in mid-August. So it produced results.

How much do you use tips from the public to get rid of rogue traffic?

- Not so much, it is often tips without substance. But this particular tip came from a person who we considered to be very reliable and who helped us before.
