- The reason is that we do not have the same view of the economy. We want to raise the tax by SEK 0.50 in the municipality in order to have a greater financial space to cope with the activities in school and care, says Jonas Andersson, chairman of the Left Party in Valdemarsvik.

During Monday night, a budget debate will be held in Valdemarsvik. But the tax rate was already set in November, so the Left Party sees no opportunity for a change.

- We have not decided yet how we will vote. We will decide on the budget proposal that we see as most feasible, ”says Jonas Andersson (V).

So you have not opened the doors for cooperation with the opposition?

- No, we have not done that for the opposition is also against a tax increase - so there is nothing to collect. Only we are pointing to another economic line right now, he says.

Who will rule in Valdemarsvik in the future?

- It will be a new situation now, so we will see how the parliamentary situation will be for years to come. It will probably be clarified more at the next January 27 meeting, says Jonas Andersson (V).
