Russian officials affirmed their country's support for the Yemeni people and constitutional legitimacy, and their desire to enhance cooperation with the Yemeni parliament, and to unify and coordinate efforts in various international forums.
This came during a meeting of the Speaker of the Yemeni House of Representatives, Sultan Al-Barakani, with the Russian delegation participating in the 12th meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly held in the Turkish city of Antalya, and the meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the Yemeni and Russian parliaments.
The President of the Yemeni House of Representatives reviewed the developments in the situation that Yemen is going through as a result of the coup d'etat of the Houthi militia and its seizure of power, and its non-compliance with the implementation of international resolutions, headed by Resolution No. 2216.
Al-Barakani touched on the humanitarian situation and the suffering of the Yemeni people due to the plundering of the Houthi militias for relief aid, while the head of the Russian delegation, Alexei Lishchenko, and the members of the delegation expressed their pride in the distinguished historical relations with Yemen, affirming the continued support of their country to the Yemeni people and the constitutional legitimacy and preserving the security and stability of Yemen Its unity and strengthening constructive cooperation with the Yemeni parliament and uniting and coordinating efforts in various international forums.
