People with disabilities may have to wait for interventions - leading to mental illness

According to LSS, the number of non-executed decisions on interventions has almost tripled in the municipality of Karlskrona since 2017 and today there are around 80 people with disabilities without housing and work, reports P4 Blekinge.

- This has led to increased medication, self-harm behavior, sleep disorders and someone who shows their anxiety by eating everything and eating a lot, says Tomas Gotthardsson, chairman of FUB, the Association for Developmentally Disabled Children and Young People.

At the same time, the functional support administration's budget deficit has reduced, which may be the reason why the number of decisions not implemented has increased, reports P4 Blekinge.
