Untenable situation

It is true that time is running out because the government hopes to reopen negotiations with the unions on pension reform. Most unions believed that Jean-Paul Delevoye was " discredited ". Philippe Martinez of the CGT had also asked the high commissioner to resign. The executive could not let the controversy drag on while France risks being blocked by strikes for the holidays and that it is trying to convince the French that this reform is fairer.
