Swedish Yle reports from the press conference where Sanna Marin told that the government parties - the Finnish Social Democratic Party, the Center in Finland, the Green League, the Left Federation and the Swedish People's Party in Finland - have agreed on the issue of the Finnish children in Syria.

According to Sanna Marin, the decisions to bring children to Finland must be made on a case-by-case basis and that the best interests of the child should be taken into account.

At the same time, Finland will not help adult individuals who have traveled to Syria. The authorities must also do their best to ensure that the persons taken home do not pose a security threat - according to the Constitution, the safety of the country's inhabitants must not be jeopardized.

Yle also reports that the government is reviewing terrorist laws across the country.

No Swedish decision

In Sweden, there are about 60 children with Swedish parents in one of the Syrian camps where IS supporters' families are kept. No official decision on whether or not to take the children home has been taken.

In October, Foreign Minister Ann Linde (S) said that the government gives priority to work on trying to get the children home.

- The goal is that they can be brought to Sweden if and when possible. The work is done in collaboration with other actors, including the Kurds who control and are responsible for the area. However, it is a very complicated job - not least to identify children with connection to Sweden, she said.
