Joakim von Braun is a security expert and author with a past in the Security Police and Swedish intelligence service. He really only has one thing to say about seven Glock 17 pistols and ammunition quantities stolen from the Government Offices:

- Hair gets up in the neck!

- This is a place that should be significantly better protected than simply lifting firearms away from it all.

Joakim von Braun is demanding, among other things, better security with regard to the individual weapons, which he believes could be alarmed.

- I think they have had poor protection.

"Poor physical security"

According to Today's law, the camera surveillance in the room with the guns is not recorded, how do you react to it?

"I don't want to be quoted on it," says Joakim von Braun, laughing.

He adds:

- You have to think about how theft can go. When it comes to security work, people are often assumed to be honest, but those who are villains have great opportunities for thinking differently. This bad imagination and poor physical security.

"Crisis and disaster"

When SVT News asks Joakim von Braun to summarize his thoughts on gun thefts, he replies:

- Crisis and disaster. I think it is amateurish. You think "yes, but this is approved by the guardian, so we do not need anything", but it does not require more than you accidentally get a rotten egg.

- It could also be that you threaten the guardian's children, fiancee or something and then the weapon is gone.

"Various measures have been taken"

It is the security company Securitas that manages the security at the Government Offices. SVT News has asked several questions about the security at the Government Offices, including regarding camera surveillance and routines. However, the authority cannot answer the questions due to confidentiality.

“Of course, the fact that weapons have disappeared from our surveillance provider is very serious. It is the security company responsible for the storage and handling of their weapons. The Government Offices have a special dialogue with the security company and various measures have been taken after this occurred. I cannot go into what these measures are, ”writes Ulrika Langels, press communicator at the Government Offices, in an email.
