"Direct control over the actions of the US Navy ship is carried out by a small missile ship of the Vyshny Volochyok Black Sea Fleet," TASS quoted the message.

In October, three Russian ships of the Black Sea Fleet took control of the US destroyer Porter, which entered the Black Sea.

After that, the commander of the American 6th Fleet, Lisa Franchetti, stated that the purpose of the destroyer's entry into the Black Sea was to demonstrate the United States' commitment to freedom of navigation and NATO allies.
