It is a firm hand that greets me in the form of 24-year-old Axel Enquist as I ascend to the City Mission in Karlstad. Here he and eleven of his comrades in the association take turns sitting two hours a week to help those in need of legal advice.

- We get to practice what we learned in school, learn how to formulate and answer problems in an understandable way. In addition, we must help people who are vulnerable.

Works with the church

The association also collaborates with the church.

- We are endlessly grateful to have the opportunity to send clients who need help here to the counselors. Such a conversation can be a guide for these people who can better understand what is going on and get better order in their lives, which also gives them confidence. It is also a security for the community to know that our future Karlstad residents get the help they need, says Miriam Pettersson, deacon at the Cathedral in Karlstad.

Similar local associations as the one in Karlstad are found in most cities that have universities with law courses.
