For the 29th year in a row, the winners of the traditional gingerbread house competition at Arkdes on Skeppsholmen were selected. Behind the pastries are children, professional bakers, architects and so everyone else who wants to bake. The gingerbread bakers compete in different categories, but follow the same theme, which has been "hot" this year.

The audience's prize, ie the pastry that received by far the most votes, went to Caroline and Miranda Skaghammar. The same pastry also managed to bring home one of all the honors.

- It is so fun with a challenge that everything has to go to eat, it disputes it a bit, says Caroline Skaghammar.

Of a total of 202 contributions, 32 were volcanoes. An occasional Greta Thunberg was also seen in the showroom. But one piece that stood out was Notre-Dame in flames. The dramatic gingerbread house also won the jury award.

"We probably spent about 20 hours building," says Anna Olofsson, one of the four behind the gingerbread house.
