Tenants would have the apartment as a storage room during renovation

On the first advent, tenants on the broad mountain street in Hammarkullen received a letter from Bostadsbolaget. "New safer storage in the basement" read the headline, but the information they received was that they would empty their basement stores themselves and store their things in the apartment until the renovation was complete - in March. Everything that was not picked up before January 3, Bostadsbolaget would throw away.

Jon-Erik Turner, who lives in one of them, thought it was very strange.

- It is true that if the stuff is not unpacked on the third of January we throw the stuff. They are not allowed to do that. The law says they have to keep things for three months, he says.

The information letter from Bostadsbolaget states that "Unfortunately, Bostadsbolaget has no opportunity to store the items from the stores, so we ask you to store them in your apartment until the stores are ready."

But after SVT News West has met Jon-Erik and contacted Bostadsbolaget, they change their mind and say that they can certainly help with emptying and storage.

- Whoever wrote this and either got the wrong information or misunderstood the information. So I really hope that this will never happen again, ”says Malin Pethrus, press communicator Bostadsbolaget.
