According to Avakov, the suspects in the Sheremet murder case stated that "a certain patron should pull them out and protect them."

At the same time, the Interior Minister said that the explosion of Sheremet’s car, as a result of which the journalist died, was “a complicated technical crime”, which included “reconnaissance, retreat, route construction”.

“They hid after the crime, laid cars, created doubles,” Avakov noted.

On December 12, the head of the National Police of Ukraine, Yevgeny Koval, stated that the investigation established five suspects in the murder of Pavel Sheremet.
