“President Zelensky made positive statements, we understand that he is ready to work to improve relations between the two countries, which we are also committed to,” Siyyarto said.

However, he noted that "the problem is that, unfortunately, the Hungarians in Transcarpathia are experiencing increasing pressure."

“And I’m not saying that it’s because of President Zelensky, I don’t believe that he would instruct his services to put more pressure on the Hungarians. Therefore, we do not know the reason why this is happening. But at the same time, the Hungarians living in Transcarpathia tell us that the pressure that the SBU puts on them is increasing, ”he added.

According to him, Hungary cannot allow such things.

In October, Siyyarto said Budapest’s representatives vetoed a joint declaration by the ambassadors of NATO member countries to Ukraine. The reason was the violation of the rights of the Hungarian national minority by the Ukrainian authorities.
