Abdelmadjid Tebboune won the presidential election in Algeria in the first round. A vote marked by a record abstention: 39.9%. The Hirak mobilization movement had called on Algerians to boycott this election. For the protesters, this election was a maneuver of power to extend the regime.

As already this Thursday, part of the Algerians, members of Hirak, the protest movement born in February, have met on the street. This is the 43rd Friday of mobilization away. They intend to continue the movement, to say no to this election and therefore to this victory. In the capital, protesters chanted slogans to denounce a rigged vote. Proof of the disinterest of some Algerians: the participation figure has never been so low.

The reactions are also lively on social networks. Reactions such as "it was too predictable ", a Twitter user or " It's a dark day for Algeria ". Several netizens also published a caricature of the cartoonist Nime, entitled " the elected ", on which we can see General Ahmed Gaïd Salah , the chief of staff of the army, donning a glass shoe to Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Its author was sentenced this week to one year in prison, including three months closed.

There are also references to his age. Abdelmadjid Tebboune is a septuagenarian. " How can you, at age 74, run the largest country in Africa whose population is mostly thirty? ", One wonders on Twitter.

It's a masquerade, once again the army has imposed its candidate.
