Chance of the calendar or occult power of the Matrix? Keanu Reeves will be back in the long-awaited "Matrix" and "John Wick" sequels that will be released on screens in the US on May 21, 2021, which fans have dubbed "Keanu Day".

"Matrix 4", with its science-fiction infused kung-fu, is distributed by Warner Bros. studios while the fourth chapter of the adventures of hitman "John Wick" is produced by their competitor Lionsgate. There is no indication at first sight that this double release date is deliberate and a change is still possible due to a shooting delay or a marketing calculation.

But fans of the hero of "Point Break" did not wait to excite on social networks, many proposing to make May 21 a holiday officially dedicated to Keanu Reeves.

At 55, the Canadian actor has enjoyed a surge of popularity in recent years, a phenomenon called "Keanuaissance" including fueled by his presence in video games to which he lends his voice and sometimes his image, as "Cyberpunk 2077".

Keanu Reeves is also appreciated for his simple and down-to-earth style, far from the glitz of Hollywood, even if his actions are followed closely by the media of all kinds.

To date, the trilogy ("Matrix" in 1999, "Matrix Reloaded" and "Matrix Revolutions" in 2003) has totaled more than $ 1.6 billion in cinemas around the world. Mixing philosophy, metaphysics and action scenes, the trilogy features a group of rebels who fight artificial intelligences that have imprisoned humans in the Matrix, a universe of virtual reality simulating the outside world.

It is not known how the fourth part of "Matrix", whose title has not yet been unveiled, will be articulated in relation to the first three.
