“In the first years, they practically did not communicate, and in the last period they met quite often, this year four or five times,” RIA Novosti quoted Luzhkov as saying.

The mayor noted that Luzhkov “had a drive, he was charged with business, talked about agriculture, about the enterprise he was engaged in, it was very interesting to listen to him.”

Sobyanin added that during the meetings they "exchanged common issues, and practically did not interfere in the conversation in the city’s economic affairs."

Earlier it was reported that in Moscow people lay flowers at the memorial in memory of Luzhkov at the building of the capital's city hall in Voznesensky Lane.

The funeral of the ex-mayor of the capital will be held at the Novodevichy cemetery on Thursday, December 12, after the funeral in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

Luzhkov died on December 10 at the age of 83.
