Appeal judgment: trial suspended

Yesterday's scheduled hearing in the High Court in Gothenburg on the murder of a 69-year-old woman in Kil this summer was canceled. The reason was that the 20-year-old man who sentenced Värmland District Court to murder for eleven years in prison did not come to the High Court negotiations. According to defense lawyer Anders Olsson, it was due to a communication loss.

The convicted 20-year-old had been taken from the Salberga prison and taken to the Kronoberg Detention Center in Stockholm. But there he was when the negotiations in the High Court were to begin yesterday morning in Gothenburg.

Now the new date for the negotiations is Monday, December 16.

Both parties have appealed against the sentence of eleven years in prison. The defense is calling for shorter prison sentences.

"He thinks he has not intentionally taken the life of a woman, he wants the prison sentence down," the man's lawyer Anders Olsson previously told SVT.

Prosecutor Cecilia Aronsson has appealed against the accession and wants a higher sentence than eleven years.
