The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi affirmed the necessity of the commitment of all health facilities operating in the emirate to receive and treat all emergency health cases until the patient’s condition is established, in line with the policies issued by the department previously, and she said: “It is strictly forbidden to refuse to receive or treat any emergency due to lack of availability or validity Patient health insurance card.

The department stressed the importance of coordination between health facilities when transferring the patient from one facility to another, by ensuring that the emergency department in the hospital to which the patient is transferred is ready to receive the relevant medical condition, in addition to ensuring the availability of the necessary capacity to receive patients.

The department called on health facilities to communicate directly with the operations department therein in case it becomes clear that there is no vacant bed in the hospital to which the patient is referred.

The department explained that the health facility that does not adhere to what is stated in the circular bears responsibility for that, and is subject to legal accountability in accordance with what is stipulated in the regulations and laws in force.
