According to the explanatory note to the bill, the initiative aims to improve the organization’s activities, involves changing the status of the State Duma from the central executive body to the state law enforcement agency, tightens parliamentary control over the activities of the State Duma, empowers the director with the authority to appoint three deputies and determine their responsibilities.
It is clarified that the president will determine the organizational structure of the department, and also appoint, on the proposal of the tender committee, the work of which will be ensured by his office, the new director of the SRB.
It is noted that the powers of the current director of the State Duma, Roman Truba, as well as his two deputies, will terminate ahead of schedule the next day after the publication of the law, the interim director will be appointed by the president within five working days.
Earlier it was reported that the GDB created a unit to investigate cases of "Maidan", which will bring together the best investigators to work effectively to investigate the crimes committed.
