“Friends, introduced to the parliament a bill recognizing the law on the state language as invalid. On the repeal of the law on language, if someone understands this. On the basis of newly discovered circumstances, in view of the decision of the Venice Commission, ”he wrote.

According to the deputy, this law “has nothing to do with the protection and development of the Ukrainian language” and is aimed only at “discrimination of speakers of other languages, primarily the Russian language”.

“This is a law for those who do not want to see Ukraine as a strong, modern, multinational state,” he added.

Earlier in Ukraine, a national commission on state language standards was created, which, among other things, “will check the level of state language ownership in order to obtain citizenship of Ukraine or occupy positions defined by law”.

Expert Alexander Asafov assessed the law on the state language in an interview with Nation News, noting that "in practice, people will run into difficulties."
