“The forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB and the Russian Guard have eliminated 83 illegal workshops for the production and conversion of weapons, neutralized eight criminal groups involved in the supply of weapons and ammunition from zones of armed conflict,” TASS quoted him as saying.

The head of the FSB also added that due to the reduction in the resource base, members of various terrorist groups are looking for new ways to acquire weapons.

Earlier, FSB and MVD officers stopped the smuggling of gunpowder from abroad.
