Music journalist Håkan Thörn at SVT in Malmö never had the opportunity to meet Marie Fredriksson in person. But in the SVT series "The Swedish Pop Wonder" he has nevertheless expressed her importance for Swedish music exports.
- Marie had a truly unique voice in the international top class. The fact that she sings on four of the Swedish songs that have been lists on American billboard says a lot about what she has meant for Swedish music. At one point, Per Gessle said that Marie put full-color on his previous black-and-white songs, says Håkan Thörn.
Marie Fredriksson passed away on December 9. She turned 61 years old.
