It is noted that the corresponding letter was signed by the chairman of the committee Nestor Shufrich.

In his appeal, the deputy gave a concrete example of the oppression of journalist Denis Ivanov because of his investigations. In particular, according to Shufrich, a media worker and his family are periodically threatened with physical harm.

“On the basis of paragraph 9 of part 1 of article 14 of the Law of Ukraine “On Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine” I am sending you an appeal from investigative journalist Denis Ivanov to verify the facts cited exclusively in the manner prescribed by law. Given the importance of the problem that has become the basis for the lawyer’s appeal, I ask you to take the matter under personal control, ”the report said.

The letter also indicates the facts of harassment of independent online publications by officials of the National Police. In particular, at their request on July 23, 2019, the Pechersk court decided to block access to 18 websites.

Earlier, the Ukrainian party “Opposition Platform - For Life” said that Ukraine could turn into an “information concentration camp."
