- There can be large amounts of snow, says Henrik Reimer, on-duty meteorologist at SMHI.

During Sunday, a rainfall area is expected to sweep north across Sweden - from the west coast, where it falls in the form of rain, and up over Svealand and southern Norrland in the form of snow.

Örebro, Värmland and Gävleborg counties can receive five to ten centimeters of snow, and Dalarna may be covered by up to 15 centimeters of snow.

Up to 20 centimeters

In parts of Jämtland and Västernorrland, snow cover can be as deep as 20 centimeters.

SMHI's warnings are of Class 1, the lower warning class, which means inclement weather.

In their places, it can also be slippery on the roads, especially in western Svealand where the snow is expected to melt on Sunday evening.

Housing in the Stockholm area can count on plus degrees and rain.

Strong winds can create additional problems

SMHI also warns of the high winds which, in conjunction with the large rainfall area, can cause further problems.

- It is at the coast and the mountains that is the most windy. On the coast, the wind makes it extra difficult and the roads that go along the coast can be affected quite a bit, says Sofia Söderberg, meteorologist at SMHI.
