With our special correspondent in Madrid , Christine Siebert

Social Cumulative Climate, the Social Summit for Climate, held at Madrid's Complutense University, brings voices from NGOs, climate movements and indigenous people.

With conferences on climate change, indigenous rights or fossil subsidies, Dominique Palmer, has floor for two hours on this topic. This British student is part of the youth movement for the climate. The next COP will be held in 2020 in his home country of Glasgow. But for her, as long as fossil fuels are heavily subsidized, the scope of COPs remains limited.

" We must stop subsidizing fossil fuels, otherwise we will not be able to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The UK government pays about 12 billion euros a year to the fossil industry . "

The word to indigenous peoples

The University of Madrid also hosts the "minga indigena", the summit of indigenous peoples. Gloria Ushiga of the Sapara people, lives in the Amazon rainforest in Ecuador, where oil extraction is wreaking havoc. " Many people die of cancer because the water is polluted. Many countries are developing thanks to oil. But for us, the indigenous peoples, it brings us nothing but pollution! "

Throughout next week, indigenous peoples will develop proposals that will be submitted to the negotiators of COP25 , the official conference.
