This week, Finnish Prime Minister Antti Rinne (SDP) resigned after the Center Party government lost confidence in him.

On Sunday evening, the Social Democrats gathered the SDP party delegate - and now it is clear who is the new prime ministerial candidate.

The election fell on Transport and Communications Minister Sanna Marin.

The former government coalition, which consists of five parties, will continue under the same program. This means that Sanna Marin will in practice become the next prime minister when the new government is expected to gather on Tuesday.
