Lebanese businessman Samir Al-Khatib announced his apology for the formation of the new government, after two meetings with resigned Prime Minister Saeed Al-Hariri and the Mufti of Lebanon, and Al-Khatib stressed that the consensus revolves around Al-Hariri himself to form the government, while the protesters organized many marches and motorcades in separate parts of Lebanon Yesterday, in protest against the launch of the parliamentary consultations that aim to nominate a prime minister to undertake the task of forming a new government. In detail, the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Lebanon Sheikh Abd al-Latif Drian received, in Dar al-Fatwa, yesterday, a candidate for prime minister, Samir al-Khatib, who said after the meeting: “It was confirmed During the meeting on strengthening the unity of the national and Islamic unity, and the Mufti has his national efforts to build a state of law and institutions, which we are and on the basis of the sons of the Lebanese people in all that we seek to work and do ».

He added: “The mufti is one of Saad Hariri’s supporters, who is making efforts to advance Lebanon and supports his Arab and international role that flows in this context. I learned from the Mufti that as a result of meetings, consultations and contacts with members of the Islamic community, it was agreed that Saad Hariri was nominated to form the next government, and accordingly, I will go to the center house to meet with Hariri to inform him about the matter, because it is he who called me to form a new government, and I am grateful for this precious confidence for me. ”

After the interview, Al-Khatib actually went to Hariri, and said in statements published by the National Information Agency after the meeting: “When my name was circulated, I went down to the wishes of many friends and political leaders, and it was natural for me to initiate a series of contacts for two weeks during which I was exposed. For an unfair campaign of some disinterested ».

He added: “After my meeting with the Mufti, I went to meet with Al-Hariri and informed him of the Mufti’s position, and accordingly, I announce with all comfort my apologetic conscience not to complete the path that I was nominated for.”

To that, the National Information Agency in Lebanon stated that a number of cars gathered on the Ring Bridge and started in a procession that traversed the streets of Beirut, in the context of what is called "one of the consultations", to confirm that the parliamentary consultations should be for the people, and that an independent government is required from outside The ruling system, and the participants called on the parliamentarians to "submit to the will of the people, respect their sacrifices, and name an independent personality that enjoys their confidence and satisfaction, and most importantly carry a plan to avoid them paying the price of the crisis."

The motorcade, which started from the Ring Bridge, went to the Hamra area and then went to Ashrafieh and other streets in Beirut, and finally to Riad El Solh Square, and the marchers square that carried the Lebanese flags arrived, and the participants confirmed their refusal to name Samir El Khatib as prime minister.

A student and popular march was launched from Abdel Hamid Karami Square in Tripoli, on the 53rd day of the start of the popular movement, calling for stopping the waste of public money and tackling corruption, and the march toured Riad El Solh Street to the port, and it was remarkable to scatter rice on the march from the balcony of the houses.

The rallies came after the Presidency of the Lebanese Republic set, today, a date for binding parliamentary consultations to nominate the president in charge of forming a new government.
