The Pope of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, praised the UAE’s approach in promoting and establishing the values of tolerance, coexistence and peace, and during his reception with the Vatican assured a delegation from the Emirates, which included members of its embassy in Madrid and the program of “tolerance and coexistence” at the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, that he has good memories during He visited the country last February.
Pope Francis said that the UAE is a good model for coexistence and human fraternity, and represents a meeting point between various civilizations and cultures, and he expressed his hope to spread and establish a culture of peace, tolerance and coexistence in the world, and to build bridges of communication between different religions and cultures.
For their part, members of the state delegation thanked the Pope for hosting him, and the head of the Economic, Political, Cultural and Media Affairs Department at the Emirates Embassy in Madrid, Sarah Al-Mahri, conveyed to the Pope during the meeting the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and their brothers, His Highness the Rulers of the Emirates.
Sarah Al-Mahri touched on the role that the UAE plays in promoting the values of tolerance, and the efforts made by Emirati institutions in spreading and promoting dialogue, accepting the other, and opening up to different cultures at the local, regional and international levels.
