The abuse must have occurred in a dwelling on repeated occasions during the summer and autumn.

The man, who is in his 60s, must have among other things dragged the woman out of the house and threw things at her, hit her, knocked a table on her, hit her with a broom and locked her in a room.

He should also have threatened to kill her both via text message and orally.

The man has been arrested and arrested on two previous occasions during the summer and autumn, but subsequently released on parole. Only after a third arrest, in November, was he arrested.

He has previously been sentenced to safeguard for gross violation of women's rights against his wife.
