A Palestinian source revealed that the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) Ismail Haniyeh, who is currently in Cairo, will start an external tour that includes several countries.

According to the source - preferring not to reveal his identity - Haniyeh will begin this evening, Saturday, an external tour, which is his first since he was elected president of Hamas in May 2017.

The source pointed out that Haniyeh plans to visit several countries, including Turkey, Malaysia and Qatar, explaining that arrangements will be made to visit other countries.

In this regard, Haniyeh's staff have already arrived in Istanbul to make arrangements for his reception.

Haniyeh arrived in Cairo on Monday, through the Rafah land crossing, for talks with Egyptian officials.

Haniyeh had visited Egypt during the past years, during which he met Egyptian officials, but he did not leave and returned to the Gaza Strip.

Haniyeh is expected to meet, accompanied by Ziad Al-Nakhala, the head of the Islamic Jihad movement, today with the director of the Egyptian General Intelligence Agency, Major General Abbas Kamel.
