The conductor and musician David Lundblad from Rättvik recently brought his entire choir, Falu Chamber Choir to Helsinki. In addition to a concert in the Finnish capital, the choir was also involved in David's defense. There he received his doctorate in the subject of Swedish driving sound.

- In my particular field of Swedish driving sound I am the first, says David Lundblad and continues to tell why he chose to do his doctorate in that particular area:

- If you work with the days on end, you always have to be a little better as a conductor, you must never believe.

Unique Swedish sound

- And then we have this fantastic phenomenon with Swedish driving sound, where I realized that we do, but I wanted to know how and where it comes from. I know that now and it helps me to work more carefully and to describe a song style and a sound we have in Sweden, he continues.

He has a PhD at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.

- First, I did my conductor studies there. If you have to look at something, it is sometimes good to go outside the picture itself and look at it, get other opinions and values than you are used to, so then the choice became quite easy, to go to Helsinki, says David Lundblad.
