The mobile app is specially designed for the residents of Mörbylånga municipality and has been around since the summer. Among other things, it provides residents with information on bathing temperatures and the traffic situation on the Öland Bridge. In the event of a crisis, information can also go out quickly.

Now the mobile app has been nominated for the "Municipal Innovation Award of the Year" - a prize that will be awarded in March next year.

- That we are one of the nominees among Sweden's 290 municipalities feels fantastic fun and we are very proud of this app and are constantly working to develop and improve it further, says Kim Ahlqvist, communications manager at Mörbylånga municipality in a press release.

In the app, users can see traffic images from the Öland Bridge that are updated every three minutes and a calculation is made of how long it is estimated to take to cross the Öland Bridge.
